Urban Planning: The expansion of the existing NMS building integrates seamlessly with the village, enhancing the town center's character. The carefully placed terraces complement the surrounding architecture, while maintaining the crucial east-west green corridor. The open ground floor, featuring an atrium and library, offers views of the valley, reinforcing the overall urban concept.School Center Aspach
Architecture: This design maximizes space and functionality with a compact two-story plan. The lowered gymnasium doubles as a playground, creating a new schoolyard, while the new main hall and library feature high ceilings, ideal for events. The elementary school’s upper-floor terraces encourage open, flexible learning, and the connected atrium unites old and new with panoramic views. Staggered gymnasiums and open classrooms promote physical activity and collaborative learning, placing education and engagement at the forefront.
Functionality: The new main hall serves as a central hub with access from both the school street and sports fields, creating a dynamic space for students and the community. Flexible event spaces, open learning clusters, and innovative terraces redefine the educational environment. The NMS design shifts to a cluster-based layout, centered around a vibrant new core, exemplifying educational architecture.
